Question: When trying to find a part, should I use the part number found on the board or from the OEM service manual?

Answer: Always do your best to use the part number from the OEM service manual. This is extermely important as it relates to backward and forward compatibility. A board may have a part number on it that is no longer in use by the OEM or was quite frankly, never used in production by the OEM. Knowing the part number from the OEM service manual opens up more opportunity to locate a hard to find part to fix your equipment.

If you don't have an OEM service manual or need help finding the right part number, feel free to ask for help by emailing support@ccmedicalsolutions.com.

I disagree.   When ordering a replacement part, ALWAYS give the potential vendor the actual part number of the part you are trying to replace.  A knowledgeable  vendor will be able to use the part number you provide and offer you appropriate recommendations.  In my experience, the original part number will more likely that not lead you to get the part that you need to finalize the repair job.

Hello Novatech,

I agree - a knowledgeable vendor can possibly do the homework to translate a part number found on the board to an orderable part number.

However, the customer also takes the risk of limiting themself to what the vendor is telling them - both in price and in possible replacment part numbers that are compatible.

An orderable OEM part number that is found in the service manual will allow the customer to keep the vendor honest, ensure that they receive a part that actually works and allow them to comparison shopping.

Regards,

Hi, we have been using the kretz combison 311 for bladder ultrasounds only for the past few years and it has been without problems. We used it last week and it functioned fine, this week I turned it on and it said there was no memory in system ( to choose what u want to do ) - what do you think is wrong ? could it be just a fuse and how do I check ?
